Even though I'm married and have children, I can relate to the heartache of the single days. I was not strong emotionally and did not wait upon the Lord. It takes a lot of courage to choose celibacy and be willing to wait rather than jump into wrong relationships out of desperation. Christians are not exempt from making the same mistakes as everyone else.

flewed out movie 2021 did a very good job in the writing of this book. She shares personal stories from her life. She included lyrics to her songs. There were Bible lessons to draw from. There is a group study guide at the end with an opportunity for a workshop with Kate and a counselor. It was very well thought out and written.

Kate has found comfort in her music. She told one story about singing over a dear friend through his illness until he was better. Music has an effect greater than words. Songs tell stories that touch the heart.

I chuckled at one of her list items for her perfect man. He can listen to Celine Dion all he wants as long as it's with earphones. I chuckled because I'm a Celine Dion want to be in my fantasies.

My favorite chapter is how to throw the perfect pity party. It reminded me of a "Mork and Mindy" episode when Mindy tried to cheer up her sister who had been fired from a job by throwing her a pity party. Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. It's very therapeutic.

As a married person, there's nothing I can say to ease the pain of a single person. I know better than to give pat or spiritual answers. I can say that it was a painful time for me as well.

I could have saved myself a lot of heartache had I been stronger. God knows my heart. I do have compassion for young adults trying to find their way. Having a resource like this and a strong group to belong to can help so you don't have to do it alone.

When I was about ages eighteen to twenty-two, the last thing I needed was another Bible study. I needed real friends who cared. I needed someone to take me under their wing. I stumbled and eventually found my way and it made me a really strong woman. I'm thankful for the way God worked things out for good in my life.
